Four Groups File Complaints Against Carmona's 2006 Report; Scientific Misconduct as Reasons for Complaint Against Ex-Surgeon General.

In June, 2006, then
Surgeon General Carmona released his report titled "The Health Consequences
of Involuntary Exposure to Tobacco Smoke". Since that date, his report has
drawn criticism from Scientists and Epidemiologists worldwide.

Four separate groups have filed complaints with the Office of Research
Integrity, Health and Human Services against Ex-Surgeon General Carmona's
2006 Report.

Opponents of Ohio Bans say "Just follow the money."

On November 7, 2006, Ohio voters passed Issue 5, Ohio’s smoking ban which included exemptions for private clubs and family owned businesses. Over a year later, no private clubs are exempt and no family owned businesses are exempt as far as we know.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Shelly Kiser, advocate for the
American Lung Association, stated she doesn't think the smoking ban has
lowered liquor sales and that there may be an orchestrated campaign to allege
receipts are off 30%.

In order to get smoking bans passed, it was necessary to create an atmosphere of hatred toward the “enemy,” to work people into a frenzy over a threat to their health, whether the threat was real or not. What mattered was not truth or science but whether the desired result—smoking bans—could be achieved.

The websites of two prominent pro-choice organisations campaigning against smoking bans have been targeted by hackers who redirected traffic to the NHS Smokefree website. The high level and sophisticated hacking technique affected all UK based internet service providers.
